The ICN2 enters the “Nanolight Zone” in the new “Laura and Joan” storybook

by Àlex Argemí

The General Directorate for Research (Ministry of Business and Knowledge, Government of Catalonia) has launched a new “Laura and Joan” storybook to bring science closer to young students. The young protagonists of this series visit the ICN2 to learn about graphene, energy and technology transference.

Laura and Joan have been starring scientific adventures for a long while. In the 25th issue of the series, entitled “Laura and Joan in the ‘Nanolight’ Zone”, these young researchers visit the ICN2 and help its researchers to develop a graphene-based battery. Using the unique properties of this 2D material they manage to set the basis for a long-lasting eco-friendly battery and turn it into a potential opportunity for technology transference.

The ICN2 Novel Energy-Oriented Materials Group was involved in the project through Prof. Pedro Gómez-Romero and Daniel Rueda, together with the ICN2 Bussines Development team. The ICN2 Marketing and Communication Department, headed by Àlex Argemí, coordinated this collaboration that is already available at schools and public libraries.
