Second "Vermú de Nanociència” webinar series now open to subscriptions

In the framework of the “10alamenos9” Scientific Festival, the “Vermú de Nanociencia” webinar series proposes lectures on nanoscience and nanotechnology, provided by experts in the field from different worldwide institutions. We are glad to announce that subscriptions to participate are open!

We invite everybody to participate in this year’s edition of "Vermú de Nanociència", both as speaker and as attendee. Organised within the framework of the 6th edition of the Scientific Festival "10alamenos9 " (10tominus9), it is a series of webinars where experts in nanoscience and nanotechnology share their knowledge with a non-expert public in 20–30-minute presentations, which can be followed in streaming. Join us to talk about the unique behaviour of matter at such a small scale, its manipulation and possible applications.

The idea for these informal talks came up last year, when the planned Festival had to be cancelled due to the COVID situation. Promptly, the organization team adapted the content to be held virtually and had a very positive response. More than 40 webinars were scheduled, streamed 3 days a week, between the end of March and the beginning of June.

Among the speakers, some researchers from the ICN2 Novel Energy-Oriented Materials Group participated:

Group leader Prof. Pedro Gómez Romero talked about NanoEnergy in the Coronavirus Era, “De los nanómetros a los Teravatios, NanoEnergía en la era del Coronavirus” )
PhD Student Daniel Rueda García talked about batteries, supercapacitors and the new energetic model, (“Nanotecnología que hay en las baterías de ión litio/supercondensadores y el nuevo modelo energético” )
Dr Sara Goberna Ferrón talked about artificial photosynthesis and nano-catalyzers. ( “Fotosíntesis artificial y nanocatalizadores” )

This year's edition of the 10alamenos9 Festival, an international dissemination event, will take place between March and June 2021. Many activities are scheduled to take place in many different cities, in Spain and Latin America (in countries such as México, Costa Rica, Argentina and Guatemala).
