Two ‘Focus Issues’ published by ‘2D Materials’ have ICN2 researchers as guests-editors

by Super User

ICREA Professors Sergio O. Valenzuela, Stephan Roche and Arben Merkoci are guest-editors of two Focus Issues about spintronics and nanobiosensors respectively, published by 2D Materials.

2D Materials publishes different Focus Issues which comprise a diverse selection of exclusive articles. Each Focus Issue is related with an active area of particular current interest and the accepted articles serve to highlight the exciting work conducted in them. Each one reunites a group of high level experts to select the papers which will be part of them. At the moment, three ICN2 researchers are guest-editors of two issues.

On one hand, ICREA Prof Sergio O. Valenzuela, Group Leader of the Physics and Engineering of Nanodevices Group, and ICREA Prof Stephan Roche, Group Leader of the Theoretical and Computational Nanoscience Group, are guest-editors of Focus on Tailoring Spin-Dependent Transport in 2D Materials. This Focus Issue gathers articles about devices relying on spintronics and their unique prospects for Information and Communication Technologies. Some papers have already been published but the submission is still open in an on-going basis.

On the other hand, ICREA Prof Arben Merkoci, Group Leader of the Nanobioelectronics and Biosensors Group, is guest-editor of Focus on Graphene-Based Biosensors which will showcase the latest advances in this rapidly developing field. Some of the papers will be original research articles by ICREA Workshop on Graphene Nanobiosensors invited speakers. Moreover other authors working on the utilisation of graphene for a range of biosensor technologies will be invited. Thus, the Focus Issue will provide an international overview of the research currently being undertaken in this field.
