EXCELLENCE 2016 will celebrate the potential of the research developed at UAB Campus

Representatives from the five Centres of Excellence “Severo Ochoa” and the two Units of Excellence “María de Maeztu” located in the UAB campus will share strategies towards achieving a top level of scientific excellence. The event will occur on October 17 in Centre for Research in Agricultural Genomics (CRAG), located at UAB Campus. October 14 is the deadline for the online registration. Dr. Carmen Vela, Secretaria de Estado de Investigación, Desarrollo e Innovación, will be attending the event together with other personalities.

 

EXCELLENCE 2016 is an event set up in order to share the way that different centres have achieved the Accreditation and Support of Centres of Excellence “Severo Ochoa” and Units of Excellence “María de Maeztu”. Personalities such as Prof Arcadi Navarro, Secretari d'Universitats i Recerca (Catalan Government), Dr. Carmen Vela, Secretaria de Estado de Investigación, Desarrollo e Innovación (Spanish Government), Prof Emilio Lora-Tamayo, President of CSIC and Prof Rolf Tarrach, Member of Board of Trustees of BIST, will be participating in this event. The meeting will happen in CRAG at UAB Campus on October 17 from 8.30 to 18.00. The attendance is free, but a previous online registration is required before October 14.

The UAB Campus is the one with the higher number of institutes with scientific excellence distinction that exists in Spain: the Campus has five Centres of Excellence “Severo Ochoa” and two Units of Excellence “María Maeztu”.  INC2 will participate in EXCELLENCE 2016 through Prof Pablo Ordejón, Director of ICN2 and leader of the Theory and simulation Group. ICN2 encourages the research community of the UAB Campus and colleagues from other institutions to join this event focused on excellence, how to achieve it and how to keep it.
