The new director, founding member of the BIST Board of Trustees, will start his mandate at the end of October.
On Friday 14 October, the Board of Trustees of the Barcelona Institute of Science and Technology (BIST) unanimously approved the appointment of Dr Eduard Vallory as the new Director General, following a competitive selection process. The Board meeting, chaired by Prof. Andreu Mas-Colell, was attended by the new Catalan Minister for Research and Universities, Joaquim Nadal, the directors of the BIST's research centres, trustees representing the private institutions, and a number of international scientists who are members of the Board.
Dr Eduard Vallory, who will begin his term of office on October 24, takes over from Dr. Gabriel M. Silberman, who has led BIST for the past five years.
