On February 8th, the ICN2 community celebrated a successful Welcome Event for its new members. The Institute demonstrated its commitment to accompanying and providing resources to its newest additions as it continues to grow and thrive. During the event, key leaders from the Institute presented its history, research areas, administrative resources, and major institutional programs, offering a comprehensive overview of the opportunities available to members.
Prof. Pablo Ordejón, the Director, delivered an inspiring speech, encouraging the new members to join the ICN2's institutional values and missions. Àlex Argemí, Head of Marketing and Communication, provided a brief overview of the Institute's history and the collaborative opportunities offered through its recognition as a Severo Ochoa Center of Excellence. Attendees were encouraged to take advantage of the center's training, dissemination, and administrative resources.
Dr. Claudio Roscini, Senior Researcher at the ICN2 Nanostructured Functional Materials Group, presented the Institute's key research areas. Dr. Belen Ballesteros, CSIC Research Scientist and Unit Leader at the ICN2 Electron Microscopy Unit, introduced the Division, Units and support facilities that will provide new members with the support they need to take their research to the next level. Finally, Julio Gómez, Head of Human Resources, presented the ICN2 Administration and some of its major institutional programs such as the Women Talent and Training programs.
Having a comprehensive understanding of the Institute's resources and opportunities is key to maximizing professional and personal growth within a Center of Excellence like the ICN2.
