by Àlex Argemí

The Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (UAB) warmly invites prospective students to an enlightening Information Session about their coveted Advanced Nanoscience and Nanotechnology Master's programme. Registration is now open for this unique opportunity to learn more about the cutting-edge course, hear from high-profile faculty, and envision your future in the fascinating world of nanotechnology.

The UAB is delighted to announce the Information Session for its Advanced Nanoscience and Nanotechnology Master's programme for the 2023-2024 academic year. Scheduled for Thursday, May 25th from 14:00 to 15:00 at Sala de Graus II (C5/1068), the event presents a rare opportunity to delve into the multidimensional world of nanoscience and nanotechnology. Details are in the image above. In case you can not join us in person, you can also join a virtual session held on May 24 as part of the UAB's Virtual Fair for Master's Degrees, Graduate Courses and PhD Programmes.

The in person session to be held on May 25 will be led by eminent faculty members Prof. Javier Rodriguez-Viejo, UAB Professor and Group Leader of the ICN2 Thermal Properties of Nanoscale Materials Group, and ICREA Prof. Aitor Mugarza, Group Leader of the ICN2 Atomic Manipulation and Spectroscopy Group, and Dr. Gerard Tobias from ICMAB. Together they will offer attendees a holistic perspective of the programme and its diverse opportunities.

The Master's programme, taught entirely in English and structured into three specialisations – Nanomaterials, Nanobiotechnology, and Nanoelectronics – offers a unique balance of theoretical learning and practical exposure. It's strategically designed to equip students with the latest subjects, methodologies, and facilities in research into Nanoscience and Nanotechnology, based on knowledge previously acquired in their scientific and technological profile bachelor's degrees.

With its concentration of nanotechnology research institutes and groups, the UAB's Bellaterra Campus stands as one of the strongest in Southern Europe, earning it the recognition as a Campus of International Excellence in Nanoscience and Biotechnology. This prominence extends to the Master's degree programme, offering students a plethora of dissertation projects (TFM) within each of its specialisations.

Careers in academic institutions, research institutes, technologically advanced sectors, and technology-based entrepreneurship await graduates of this esteemed Master's programme. Specific grants for this Master's degree will also be available, further ensuring accessibility to this outstanding educational opportunity.

Step into the future of science and technology with the UAB's Master's in Advanced Nanoscience and Nanotechnology. Attend the Information Session (in person on May 25 and virtual on May 24) to glean a clearer picture of your potential future in the nano-world. For more details, please contact the Master coordinator. Empower yourself to make a significant impact on society from the nano-scale and transform your academic aspirations into reality with the UAB!
