Second edition of CSIC Scientific Culture and Citizen Science Days

by Virginia Greco

After the success of the first edition, the CSIC has organise a new two-day conference to discuss scientific culture, outreach, the relationship between the scientific community and society at large.

This year the CSIC celebrates two decades of scientific culture, since outreach became an integral part of the institution's objectives, with the creation of the Area of Scientific Culture and later the Deputy Vice-Presidency for Scientific Culture of the CSIC, the current Deputy Vice-Presidency for Scientific Culture and Citizen Science of the CSIC (VACC).

On this occasion, a second edition of Scientific Culture and Citizen Science Days has been organised and is being held on June 15-16. During this meeting, the organisers seek to share experiences, forge closer ties and strengthen the scientific culture network, as well as to advance in the strategic axes of Citizen Science, Inclusive Science, Large Dissemination Spaces, Global Events and Education, to which will be added that of Evaluation and, in the near future, that of Advanced Science.

In addition, the programme includes examples of innovative and motivating initiatives from CSIC institutes, centres and units (ICU), a debate on CSIC's internal communication, and an inspiring conference on art and science. To close the event, the first CSIC Awards for Scientific Dissemination and Citizen Science will be presented.
