Dr Gerard Boix Soler awarded the UAB Extraordinary Doctorate Prize in Chemistry 2021-2022
A former student of Prof. Daniel Maspoch, Dr Boix’ research focused on the study, development and implementation of composite materials made of Metal-Organic Frameworks and Inorganic Nanoparticles with enhanced functionalities.
Dr Gerard Boix Soler carried out his doctoral studies at the UAB and at the ICN2 under the supervision of group leader ICREA Prof. Daniel Maspoch and senior researcher Dr Inhar Imaz, from the Supramolecular NanoChemistry and Materials Group. He defended his thesis, titled “Multifunctional Composites made of Metal-Organic Frameworks and Inorganic Nanoparticles”, in January 2022. This study earned him the Extraordinary Doctorate Prize in Chemistry 2021-2022 of the Universitat Autonoma de Barcelona (UAB).
The UAB Extraordinary Doctorate Prizes are awarded to graduate students across all the areas of the Doctoral Programme among all the theses defended in an academic year (one prize for every five theses), without the doctor being required to apply for it. Awardees are entitled to a refund of the fee they paid to apply for the degree and to a certificate.
