ICN2 researchers shed light on electrochemical energy storage in latest study

by Àlex Argemí

The Group led by Prof. Pedro Gómez-Romero, ICN2 Novel Energy-Oriented Materials Group, has published a significant Perspective article addressing the debate on flow-based versus static energy storage technologies. This research offers insights into the future of large-scale energy storage solutions.

ICN2 is at the forefront of energy storage research with a recent paper guided by Prof. Pedro Gómez-Romero, Group Leader of the Novel Energy-Oriented Materials Group. Published in Sustainable Energy & Fuels, the article titled "To flow or not to flow. A perspective on large-scale stationary electrochemical energy storage" explores the dichotomy between flowing and non-flowing energy storage technologies.

This study delves into the potential of various storage methods for large-scale stationary applications, a critical aspect for the advancement of sustainable energy systems. The group's findings and discussions contribute to the ongoing dialogue in the energy sector, aiming to enhance the efficiency and viability of future energy storage systems.
