Prof. María Escudero Receives the Royal Academy of Sciences Foundation Award for Young Female Talent
The ICN2 Group Leader was honoured in the "Physics, Chemistry, and Related Sciences" category at a ceremony presided over by Her Majesty Queen Letizia.
On 11 February, the International Day of Women and Girls in Science, the ceremony for the 5h edition of the Young Female Scientific Talent Awards, presented by the Spanish Royal Academy of Sciences Foundation, took place. This prestigious prize, established in collaboration with Mastercard, recognises the scientific excellence and social impact of female researchers under the age of 45.
ICREA Prof. María Escudero Escribano, Head of the ICN2 Nanoelectrocatalysis and Sustainable Chemistry Group, received the award in the 'Physics, Chemistry and Related Sciences' category. This recognition highlights her outstanding work in materials science, electrochemistry, and catalysis, which has significantly contributed to advancing sustainable technologies. Her research focuses on developing innovative solutions for a more sustainable future, including green fuel production and renewable energy conversion.
The award ceremony for all the winning scientists took place at an event presided over by Her Majesty Queen Letizia and attended by several representatives of the Spanish Government. The Royal Household included the ceremony in its official agenda, consolidating this initiative as one of the most important in promoting female scientific talent in Spain.
