The ICN2 takes part in the Science and Engineering Business Fair of UB
This event, meant to provide students with the opportunity to know and get in touch with companies involved in activities related to their studies, has reached this year its 17th edition. The ICN2 participated to present the activities and career opportunities at our institute.
On April 26, the University of Barcelona held the 17th Science and Engineering Business Fair, a meeting place for students from scientific faculties (Biology, Earth Sciences, Pharmacy and Food Sciences, Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Chemistry) and companies. The space where the event took place was at full capacity, thanks to the record participation of 116 companies (and more that applied and couldn’t be fitted).
In addition to companies representing a large breath of technological fields –from motoring and mobility, robotics and control systems, semiconductors and electronics, to food, manufacturing and consulting services— various research centres and institutes also proposed their portfolio of career opportunities. Among them were the ALBA Synchrotron, the Barcelona Supercomputing Centre and the ICN2. Katherine Ana Palomino Carrillo and Teresa Palau Pañella from our Human Resources Department, in collaboration with Ana de la Osa Chaparro and Max Aragall Borrás from the and Marketing and Communication Department, presented the research and activities carried out at the ICN2 and replied to the questions of the students.
About 900 students, from almost twenty undergraduate and engineering degrees and more than fifty master's degrees, registered for the event, which was definitely a great success. Prior to the fair, participants had been able to register for various workshops on how to write a compelling CVs and how to prepare for job interviews and presentations. A series of virtual activities with some of the participating companies also took place in the following days.
