BIST Mothers of Science supporting grants call now open
As the first action within a larger "Women in Science" programme, the Barcelona Institute of Science and Technology has launched a new grants scheme offering support to BIST scientists and mothers. The call is open until 12 March.

Promoting women in STEM at local secondary school
Last month Dr Belen Ballesteros, leader of the ICN2 Electron Microscopy Unit, gave a talk at the La Vall secondary school in Bellaterra. In a forerunner to the events planned at the ICN2 as part of the Spanish “11F” promotion of women and girls in science, her talk aimed to show another face of science, while also introducing the students to exciting field of nanotechnology.
