ICN Group Leader co-edits special issue of Lab on a Chip

by Super User

Prof Arben Merkoci of ICN and Prof Jörg P. Kutter of DTU co-edit Themed Issue of journal Lab on Chip, entitled “NANO-technologies and -materials for miniaturisation”

The issue, showcasing recent developments in nanotechnology for miniaturised biological diagnostics and other analytical applications, is centred on work to that will be presented at the Third International Workshop on Analytical Miniaturization and Nanotechnologies (WAM-NANO 2012), to be held in Barcelona on 11 and 12 June.

Lab on a Chip, the high impact journal dedicated to "miniaturisation for chemistry, physics, biology and bioengineering", has published today one of its special Themed Issues, entitled "NANO-technologies and -materials for miniaturisation". The issue has been co-edited by ICREA Prof Arben Merkoci, who leads the Nanobiolectronics and Biosensors Group at ICN, and Prof Jörg P. Kutter, who leads the ChemLabChip Group at DTU.

Focused on the Third International Workshop on Analytical Miniaturization and Nanotechnologies (WAM-NANO 2012), "Analytical miniaturization and nanotechnologies" contains twelve articles from a diverse array of research groups, representing engineers, physicists, chemists and biologists at various centres around the world. Their work encompasses nanomaterials (such as carbon nanotubes and quantum dots); microfluidics; sensing (electrical, magnetic or optical); in-chip and on-chip technologies; and biochemistry and immunochemistry.

The editors affirm that nanotechnology is on track to enable great advances in analytical capabilities.
