ICN2 presents the future of neurotechnology and bateries at 4YFN – Mobile World Congress

by Àlex Argemí

4 Years From Now (4YFN) is the part of the Mobile World Congress focused on pioneers, founders and ground breakers. The ICN2 was present in this startup ecosystem to share in a round table the results and vision of INBRAIN Neurotechnologies, a spin-off company led by CEO Carolina Aguilar, and to present the achievements of Napptilus Battery Labs, an ICN2 spin off from the ICN2 Novel Energy-Oriented Materials Group.

Mobile World Congress is a yearly meeting place for innovation and ground-breaking applications. The ICN2 has a long track of topis presented at this international event celebrated in Barcelona. During the 2022 edition, its institutional presence focused on the results of two spin-offs created by the ICN2: INBRAIN Neurotechnologies and Napptilus Battery Labs.

Dr Carolina Aguilar, CEO of INBRAIN Neuroetechnologies, participated in a round table entitled “Frontier Tech Programme (I): Frontier Materials”. There, together with other researchers and John Hoffmann, CEO at GSMA, she explained the success case of the high density and high resolution graphene intelligent neural systems designed by the company she leads. The company shared with ICREA was created on the foundations established by the research led by the ICN2 Advanced Electronic Materials and Devices and Nanomedicine Groups, together with other research centers such as IMB-CNM-CSIC.

On the other hand, Dr Pedro Gómez and Dr Daniel Rueda presented at a booth the achievements of Napptilus Battery Labs, an ICN2 spin off from the ICN2 Novel Energy-Oriented Materials Group. They showcased their innovative design that might change the way batteries work.

The ICN2 members explain their research and share the passion they brought to 4YFN in the following video:
