Improved carbon nanocapsules for radiotherapy against cancer
A team of researchers from various European institutes, Universities and a private company, have developed carbon nanocapsules that, once irradiated with neutrons, become able to deliver high radiation to cancer cells and, thus, to destroy the malignant tissue. The ICN2 and the ICMAB participated in this study, which has been recently published on ACS Nano.

CERCA Pioneer Awards 2019
Two former ICN2 PhD students, Dr Bhawna Nagar and Dr Núria Fabri Faja, have been granted the CERCA Pioneer Award 2019 for their doctoral theses. The prize is a recognition for research works that stand out for their industrial- and commercial-oriented perspective.

The spin-off Earthdas at COP25 to tackle climate change
Earthdas arose from the Novel Energy-Oriented Materials Group, led by Prof. Pedro Gómez. It develops cheaper and faster-charging graphene batteries for electric vehicles.
