Researchers from the ICN2 Theoretical and Computational Nanoscience Group as well as the Université catholique de Louvain have used numerical simulations to show that spin diffusion length is independent of grain size. The results are published in Nano Letters and have implications for the optimisation of graphene-based spintronic devices.

A tutorial review authored by researchers of the ICN2 Supramolecular NanoChemistry and Materials Group, led by ICREA Prof. Daniel Maspoch, has been recently published on Chemical Society Review and has been featured on its front cover. This paper discusses synthesis techniques and potential applications of colloidal particles of zeolitic imidazolate framework-8.

On 24 November a few ICN2 members participated in a beach clean-up action organized by Pure Clean Earth, a non-profit organization set in Barcelona to act against pollution.

She is a Fellowship Degree Student coming from Queen Mary University of London. She is now carrying out her research at the Nanobioelectronics and Biosensors Group, led by ICREA Prof. Arben Merkoçi.

The Societat Catalana de Nanociència i Nanotecnologia held its First Annual Congress of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology last Saturday 16 November. It counted with the participation of several ICN2 researchers as organisers and as speakers. Discussing the role of nanotechnology in the ecological challenges was the central axis of the event.
