A new project aiming at developing scalable energy batteries based on redox flow will be funded by the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) over the next 15 months. The ICN2 Novel Energy-Oriented Materials group will contribute to this study.

A Springorum Medal was awarded by the RWTH Aachen University to Nils Wittemeier for his Master's thesis developed in collaboration with Dr Zeila Zanolli, of the ICN2 Theory and Simulation Group.

On the occasion of the World Energy Day, “la Caixa” Foundation has shared a video clip about a research project that was granted the MIT-Spain “La Caixa” Foundation Seed Fund research grant and is being developed at the ICN2.

The ICN2 Supramolecular NanoChemistry and Materials group, led by ICREA Prof. Daniel Maspoch, has proven that efficient and sustainable chilling systems could be built thanks to a new bidimensional material of the covalent-organic frameworks class (called TpPa-1). They would be based on an absorption/desorption cooling cycle and would run on solar energy. This research has been published on Advanced Energy Materials.
