ICN2 hosts the HINT COST Action event “Biomedical, Health and Bio-Related applications of Hybrid Materials”

HINT (Rational Design of Hybrid Interfaces) is a Research Network, funded by the European COST programme. On June 8-9 it will hold at ICN2 a workshop, coordinated by Dr. Fernando Novio (ICN2) and Dr. Anna Laromaine (ICMAB-CSIC), to promote exchanges between chemists, physicists, biologists and engineers on the most recent achievements in hybrid materials with bio-applications. ICN2 in the media: Prof Laura M Lechuga talks about nanotechnology in the radio station RAC1

On Wednesday, March the 18th, ICN2 CSIC Prof Laura M Lechuga appeared in the morning program El món a RAC1 to discuss about nanoscience and nanotechnology. The talk was conducted by Josep Maria Mainat and, with a little drop of humour, the main topics run from what a nanometre is and history of nanotechnology to its most outstanding applications in our daily life, always making it clear that nano is a field with great potential.

Three Consolidator Grant projects awarded to Cluster BNC-b researchers

Jordi Sort, ICREA researcher at the UAB Department of Physics; Neus Sabaté, from the IMB-CSIC and Mariano Campoy, from the ICMAB-CSIC, all three of them members of the UAB-CIE Sphere, have each received a grant from the European Research Council.

A group of teachers visits UAB and ICN2 to get in touch with Nanotechnology

In a way to bring education and nanotechnology closer, a group of teachers has recently visited part of Autonomous University Campus and ICN2 facilities. They also attended a talk by Prof Jordi Pascual and an experimental demonstration of easy nanoscience.

ICN2 in the Media: Nanotechnology in the Diari Ara

Diari Ara is an influential Catalan newspaper. It published a double page about nanotechnology at ICN2, covering some of the main activities of the center from basic research to applications in fields such as energy, biosensors or technology. CSIC Prof Pablo Ordejón, ICN2 Director, and CSIC Prof Laura Lechuga, ICN2 Group Leader, were interviewed and members of the Institute were recruited for the pictures.
