The on-surface synthesis of covalent architectures is one of the most promising methods for providing new functionalities to graphene. Researchers from the ICN2 Atomic Manipulation and Spectroscopy Group and the DIPC discuss it in an article published in the Revista Española de Física.

The ICN2 celebrated two lab tours to share with young students some the facts and wonders of the nanoscale. The visits were hosted by the Nanobiosensors and Bioanalytical Applications Group, led by Prof. Laura Lechuga, and coordinated by the ICN2 Marketing and Communication Department. Two institutes located in Barcelona also hosted a talk about nanotechnology by the ICN2 to celebrate the Science Week.

A hint of the nanoworld marvels and of a few great applications of nanotechnology were brought by the ICN2 to the European Researchers’ Night, organized by the Cosmo Caixa and held on September 27.

The IFAE and the ICN2 have coordinated the fourth edition of the Crazy for Physics oprogramme promoted by the Fundació Catalunya La Pedrera. A selected group of highly skilled undergraduate students have enjoyed a series of experiences at excellence research centers.

After signing a public statement in support of the call for action launched by the Global Climate Strike movement, on Friday 27 of September the ICN2 invited all the staff to share proposals about concrete actions to be taken both at a personal and at an institutional level to reduce our footprint on the planet.
