Mad for Science: Over 200 students start their first scientific adventure

Mad for Science is a consolidated Program organised by Fundació Catalunya-La Pedrera and devoted to bring High School sudents closer to research. ICN2, IFAE and UAB lead the second edition of Mad for Physics. It is a great opportunity for 25 brilliant young students to have a first contact with real research. The Program offers an overview of different research lines, including the participation of researchers from ICMAB, ICFO and Alba Synchrotron.

Nanoscience and nanotechnology enter the classroom thanks to the NanoKit project

The NanoKit is a briefcase containing nano experiences linked to different high school subjects, with the aim of incorporating nanoscience and nanotechnology to the contents that are taught in classrooms. On Thursday 22 December that first NanoKits have been delivered to representatives of CESIRE, a centre of the Catalan Ministry of Education, which will coordinate the distribution of this educational material in Catalonia. In the coming months, over 70 NanoKits will be deployed in Catalonia and some more will be shared with other Autonomous Communities thanks to a project of the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology (FECYT).

Within the framework of the Setmana de la Ciència (Science Week) ICN2 received two institutional visits: Aules d’Extensió Universitària of Sant Pau, composed by people over 55 years old, and Font del Ferro Institute, composed by teenagers who made a tour through the UAB Campus.
