A book entitled “28 stories of science and biomedical innovation in Spain” gathers the stories of the researchers supported by the Botin Foundation over the past ten years. CSIC Research Prof Laura M. Lechuga, Group Leader at ICN2, is among the outstanding researchers who share their thoughts and research experiences.

Students from the Institut Font del Ferro (Palafolls) visited the UAB Campus, including the ICN2, to learn about its research facilities and unexpected career opportunities. During the visit to ICN2 Dr. Ignasi Fina, from the Oxide Nanoelectronics Group, Josep Santiso, Nanomaterials Growth Division Leader, and Belén Ballesteros, Electron Microscopy Divison Leader, guided the students through the nanoworld together with the Marketing and Communication Department.

Six experimental Kits to introduce nanotechnology in the High School classrooms were presented on November 3 during the third session of the NanoEduca pilot program. This initiative sums the dissemination efforts of ICN2, UB, UAB and CESIRE in line with the outreach objectives of the ICN2 Severo Ochoa Program.

The prize, worth 12,000 euros, recognizes the dissemination skills of the CSIC researcher and Group Leader at ICN2 Prof Pedro Gómez-Romero. "Creators of the future", the awarded work, will be published in the collection of science dissemination books Sense Fronteres, co-published by the University of Valencia and Edicions Bromera. The award was presented at the gala of the XXVII Premis Literaris Ciutat d'Alzira held Friday night November 13, 2015.

Dr Marc Maymó, from the ICN2 Nanoscience Instrument Development Division, and Dr Ignasi Fina, postdoctoral researcher from the ICN2 Oxide Nanoelectronics Group, presented the Institute in front of almost 30 teachers taking part in a CTM (Science, Technology, Maths) training program for teachers.
